Digital Servo Drives
SD94P/R DIGITAL SERVO DRIVE
The SD94 series of drives have it all. From basic torque and velocity control to fully programmable coordinated motion, you choose your level of control.
As a distributed drive/control solution, avoid all of the costly cables and connections and put the power of the motion controller in the same package as the drive. With 17 programmable I/O points, machine control becomes easy with one packaged solution.
Each drive ships with on-board software for programming, set-up and diagnostics; it is embedded into the drive and can be called up from any web browser over Ethernet. Communication and networking are handled over Ethernet as a standard, but the drive can also provide options for EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, CANopen, PROFIBUS and RS-485 Modbus.
The SD94 can perform along with the most high-level control and drive solutions in the market and can work in both a centralized or decentralized control scheme. By combining a highly efficient drive with a flexible, easy-to-use control, the SD94 is packed with features and performance all for a great price!

Features & Options
Dynamic Braking Resistors
The E94ZB series of dynamic brake resistors are available on a wide range of PositionServo drives and allow for an easy to implement solution for applications that require fast stopping or highly dynamic deceleration.
Safety Circuit
Drives with the suffix “ES” and “RS” include a safety circuit that disables the drive output to the motor so the drive cannot generate torque. This safety function, termed “safe standstill”, meets the requirements of ISO13849-1.
EMC Filter
To meet the EU requirements for susceptibility and emissions of electrical and radiated noise the PositionServo Drive is equipped with EMC filter options that can be mounted externally, or integrated into the drive.
I/O Breakout Modules
Terminal Block I/O Module: Allows for screw terminal locations for all 50 pins on the SCSI Port for Control I/O.
Panel Saver Module: Useful in applications where panel depth is at a minimum. This module allows for an easy 90 degree rotation of all face mounted cables for the PositionServo Drive.
I/O Expansion Cable: 2 Meter cable that mates to the 50 pin SCSI Control I/O port and terminates every pin to a specified and tinned location at the end of the cable.
Communications
In addition to the Standard Communications capability of the Servo drive, other communications options can be added to expand the networking capability.
DeviceNet
PROFIBUS DP
CANopen 250/500/1000 kBPS
RS-485 @ 38.4 kBPS (addressable to 32 devices) PPP, or Modbus RTU Slave
Ruby AC Servo Drive
The Ruby Servo Drive Series combines performance and functionality for the OEM. Performance is delivered through a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and external high resolution A/D’s and D/A’s. The construction is designed to maintain the lowest level of radiation emission and electrical noise. The Ruby‘s packaging maintains compact bookshelf mounting with maximum current output capabilities.
The Ruby Series will include four Models representing bus voltage inputs; 100, 200, 300 and 400. The Model 100 bus voltage input is from 12-70 VDC, Model 200 bus voltage input is 120 VAC, 1 Φ, Model 300 bus voltage input is 220 VAC, 1 or 3 Φ and the Model 400 bus voltage input is 360-460 VAC, 3 Φ. The continuous current range will vary by model with peak current capable of three times continuous for three seconds.
The Ruby comes with four different servomotor feedback input options; Incremental encoder with simulated hall outputs, high resolution sin/cos optical encoder with simulated hall outputs, Resolver and Serial encoder (EnDat, Hiperface, or BISS). The Ruby has an output for controlling a fail-safe brake as well as adding external regen.
The Ruby can function as a torque, velocity, position or slave servo drive. There is also and input for a 2nd encoder input for high performance position control.
A user-friendly interactive document in HTML format creates detailed instructions for installing and commissioning the specific model, mode and functions ordered by user. The commissioning software is simple to use with an integrated scope function for those high performance applications.
The Ruby Series is in development and release. Not all Models or functions are available. Please contact Servo Dynamics for the latest information.
The Ruby is UL and CE and RoHS compliant.
